I love Oscoda. I love the cottage. I love the beach. I love the people. I love the V. It's so much stinkin' fun. We are not there this weekend and I am on a horrible withdrawal of sorts. The 4th of July weekend, Paul and I took an extended vacation to hangout in the O and get to know our second city. Oh, and we had a lot of work to do around the cottage too.
We went to the 4th of July parade. Now, I am not normally a parade kind of person but this parade was special. They had marching veterans, community organizations, animal rescue marchers and cool cars. It was sweltering but so worth it.
Dear friend Jeanette and Madame President
Fellow Photographer and friend Kim!
Of course, everyone has septic trucks in parades, yes?
I didn't have the heart to tell him that his makeup was melting.
We had a blast! The weather was the perfect combination of hot and dry with a few showers to cool us off in between. After the parade, we headed to the American Legion, grabbed a few burgers and beers and sat around in the nice air conditioning. A good break from the sweltering sun.
So hooray for small town parades. I can't wait to get back up there again!
