What a wonderful week. And it promises to be an even more wonderful weekend.
I am, despite the plunging temperatures and mountains of snow, looking forward to January. One of my favorite programs at work is the January Series and we have an amazing lineup of speakers scheduled. Krista Tippett will be opening the series on January 5. I can't wait.In her newsletter, she shared a beautiful poem that I wanted to share here.
|From Summer Oscoda|
God speaks to each of us as he makes us,
then walks with us silently out of the night.
These are the words we dimly hear:
You, sent out beyond your recall,
go to the limits of your longing.
Flare up like flame
and make big shadows I can move in.
Let everything happen to you: beauty and terror.
Just keep going. No feeling is final.
Don't let yourself lose me.
Nearby is the country they call life.
You will know it by its seriousness.
Give me your hand.
