Recently, the State of Michigan decided we needed a walking/biking path on US 23. Sadly, they took out a bunch of trees, took down our sign, and installed an asphalt-paved path.
We at least are able to put our signs and flag. We will worry about our sign later.
Two days ago, I was walking the path with my Tilley hat and Harris Walz pin. In the distance, walking towards me, I saw two people and their lovely dogs (Charlie and Luna). The two (now new friends) approached, took one look at my hat and broke out into a big grin!
Steve told me he LOVED the button on my hat; Joyce said, "wow are you brave to wear that out walking by yourself."
I thought about that for quite a while. What an incredibly sad state of our community when wearing a BUTTON might incite violence.
