Such a weekend!

So ... Saturday AM, Paul and I had portrait photography class at Meijer Garden. It was a terrific class, great instructor but as Paul and I realize, classes that don't screen for ability level attract a wide range of skill set. Really. Surprising I know but I am pretty good with ISO and WB so I don't need to spend as much time there anymore. But it was a nice class, learned a few things and had fun. Good enough.

In the afternoon, Paul's friend Mike called us to let us know that the cow was ready to be picked up. 135 lbs of graze-fed beef, cut and packaged by Mike himself. Let me tell you, it's a LOT of beef.

Sunday, we met Paul's kindergarten friend (I kid you not) Paul Weideman and his wife Marj. Paul is in town for ArtPrize and was hanging his submission. I got to see the picture - it's enormous, like the size of a screen sliding door and so stunning. ArtPrize is SO STINKING COOL and it has energized the city. I can't wait to wander around and look at all the art. Wow. Anyway, you need to check out Weid's submission and vote for his picture. It is awesome.

Sunday night, Paul cooked the first steak from our cow. Ann Marie joined us; my contribution was the cous cous and Ann Marie made green beans in breadcrumbs. I have truly never had that kind of beef before. What a difference.

And we met our little piggy who went to market. We will get it back, packaged, in a few weeks. Now, we just need to find a local place to buy our veggies and we will be set!

Short week for me with Friday off. w00t! Have a good one.

I hope you didn't have to look in to your little piggy's eyes before hand. :-( But I loves me some fresh bacon!! :-)
