Samson 1, Spider 0

There is one less arachnid in the world, courtesy of Mr. Handsome. With his increasing silliness, I don't go too far with a camera, any camera. I usually find him doing something most noteworthy when my camera is somewhere else. Fortunately, I had the camera handy when Samson found something on the floor. He watched it crawl across the floor for a few seconds when he was overcome with curiosity and was compelled to investigate. We watched him watch the spider for a while until he did what most dogs do, he had to put it in his mouth. At that point, Paul looked at me and said, 'apparently he isn't getting enough protein in his diet'....Samson played with it in his mouth and then spit it out on the rug. At this point, the spider was still alive and trying desperately to get away from the furry monster. Samson was very curious, watching it crawl around. Eventually, he lost interest in watching it move around, put it in his mouth and ate it. Poor spider, he fought valiantly but was no match for the 95 lb furry monster. I expect that other spiders will find another route than through the living room.

We had a lovely evening, with Paul cooking chicken piccata, some couscous and a ceasar salad. At 9:31, we walked outside to watch the ISS scream across the sky. It was beautiful. Fortunately, I was able to see it both Friday and Saturday night. Tonight it is supposed to be raining and overcast so we don't hold out much hope of seeing it tonight.

My foot continues to heal well. It is still a magnificent bruise and the stitches come out tomorrow morning. Woo hoo. No more pictures. Sorry, too ugly.

I have some updates in the technology front. I upgraded my MBP to Leopard and have been very happy with the stability of the OS ... but did run into some problems with Firefox. So, I updated FF to the beta version 3.4 and voila! It is a really cool version and fortunately no problems on my Mac. Paul is not having any problems with Vista on his new machine, despite the bad press. (Fingers and toes crossed). Another cool program that I am using is Google's Notebook. It is incredibly helpful especially when I am doing research and want my info all in one place. Also, Safari is available for the PCs and it makes me laugh - I don't like Safari on my Mac and I sure don't want it on my PC! After FF, I use Opera and Camino (for the Mac). I also upgraded my pocket camera and it should arrive at the end of the week. I am doing quite a bit of photography of the late, so I need to have a good camera with me at all times. ;)

I have some reading to do this afternoon and am enjoying the cloudy, gray day. It's perfect for curling up with a blanket and a good book. Samson was chasing fuzzy girlfriend all over the yard and he is tired! Enjoy the day.

John,
If you had gone to an accredited college or university, you would be able to follow Dee's technology update. Perhaps you will someday get a real BA/BS degree?
