A New Year

News flash, it's 2010. Who knew?
We don't make new year resolutions around these parts; rather having the benefit of being married to someone of German descent, we "plan" (think highly organized). So after having a wonderful weekend of fun, reflection and a few good soaks in the hot tub, here are my plans for the coming year.
1. Participation in project 365. I will take a picture every day and post it on my photography blog. The pictures may not get edited every day but I will take a picture every day this year.
2. Shoot a wedding with my friend Julia. I don't know where or when or who even wants us, but I am going to plan this. It's on my virtual calendar, just waiting for the phone call. She is the only person I could do this with. I just don't have the personality to carry it off myself. :)
3. Plan a girls-only retreat East of the Equator. The guys can have their own retreat but I am not planning it. They can plan their own. Drop me a note if you want to be included. Space is sparse but worth it. You will need a camera, a chair and some kind of reading. No TV EOTE.
4. Shoot the moon. Really. This year is the year I make it look good.
5. Continue to dream. Enjoy the journey.
The Prophet
And a man said, "Speak to us of Self-Knowledge."
And he answered, saying:
Your hearts know in silence the secrets of the days and the nights.
But your ears thirst for the sound of your heart's knowledge.
You would know in words that which you have always know in thought.
You would touch with your fingers the naked body of your dreams.
And it is well you should.

Ah, dreams. Sweet, glorious, wondrous dreams. Here is to an amazing year of plans!

Happy 2010!

Today is our anniversary. Every year, on New Year's Eve, we can count on two things: celebrating our anniversary with a magnificent dinner and the Red Wings always play in Detroit. So far, we have missed neither. We started our New Year's Eve with a toast of gratitude.

This year, we had an added benefit of having our friend Deb join us. Paul cooked my hand's down, all time favorite recipe Tenderloin Deluxe served with long grain rice, green beans and a fabulous Caesar salad. The wine, Four Vines 2007 Zinfandel (Sonoma) was the perfect choice from Art of the Table. I was dubious of the wine especially a Zinfandel and that was completely unfounded. The wine was delightful. The meal was so good that we had no leftovers. That almost never happens. :)

The Red Wings won a hard fought game against Colorado and we ended the night with a wonderful treat of Irish Coffee. And here is to the hope for the New Year!
