Either is acceptable according to the Farmers' Almanac. What is it about the moon that is so intriguing? I could just stare at it for hours.
To get this shot, I had a couple of things. A tripod. A REALLY long lens, the longest I could afford. A remote. Timing. A perfect evening. No clouds. Cool temps. No bugs. Round these parts in July, that's a gift. f/11 to f/16 1/125 and 100 ISO. I played with a variety of combos during the rise but those settings got my favorite results.
Cheers to the moon, just east of the equator.
