A week in the life

I can't believe it's Sunday. So much this week. Crazy.

On the photography front, I have signed up for several more classes. My colleague Todd, an accomplished photographer himself, told me about the classes Meijer Gardens has, as well as a two day conference in April, put on by the Rocky Mountain School of Photography. I am quite busy with all the picture taking and learning that needs to happen. :) This is one topic that will require continuing education for years to come.

One of the reasons that I have been kept away from the blog, and other things, is a volunteer project in which I have become entrenched. About two weeks ago, after a Twitter exchange, JobAngels (@jobangels) was born. The goal of this project is to help one person find a job. Just one. And we can make a huge dent in the unemployment. In just a few short weeks, there a couple thousand people following on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. It takes up a good portion of my free time, but its fun and helpful. Will keep you posted on the progress.

Friday night, we went to see The Government Inspector at Calvin College. It was a delightful play with fabulous costumes and scenario. We met friends for dinner before the play and had a nice evening out. Saturday night, for Valentine's Day, we hosted friends Steve and Amy (@artofthetable - Art of the Table) for dinner. Paul made Pan Seared filet mignon in Cabernet reduction sauce. It was wonderful. But equally as wonderful was the wine Amy brought. You can read all about it over at the Cafe. It was SO terrific. And stay tuned for (correction) two weeks, from now, it's our Davy Jones Dinner where we are all about the fish, scallops, crab legs and the such. Can't wait!

Also on Saturday, we took Samson to see our friends at Scholfield Veterinary Hospital. He needed a shot and a check up. He is looking good and trim and with his updated shot, is all set until the fall! He is such a good dog - didn't even flinch when he got his shot. Of course, he was focused on the puppy treat. ;)

It's a quiet day of recovery and reflection in East Grand Rapids. I have some strategic planning, some reading, some pictures and some organizing to do. The Handsome One is enjoying the day and will get to chase some hoppy things and cuddle with his BFF, Ann Marie. Enjoy your week!
