Wrapping up the weekend

What a delightful weekend! Saturday afternoon, Paul took off the afternoon and headed to Lowell to help a friend with wood. He played with his chainsaw and friends, came home and took a nap and then we headed back out.

The plan was for dinner with friends Mike and Rhonda and to see their beautiful home, land, horses, cows, kids and wood. :) Their horses are absolutely stunning. The kids took me to the stable and let me take some pictures. The horses came over to say hello and give me a sniff and upon getting bored, wandered off.

I also had the opportunity to meet the cows. And while meeting the cows, we realized that we wanted to buy in ... so what you are seeing is potentially our dinner next winter. There is some great name for this cow and I will be darned if I can remember ... I suspect that the Grass Doctor aka Henry will know. :)

Ann Marie joined us on Sunday to take a break from school, see Samson and cook a good meal. She came with an amazing recipe of breaded steak with ammoglio sauce. Now I am a big fan of steak and didn't know how breading a t-bone would improve it. Did I learn something tonight! Whoa. Ann Marie lightly breaded the steaks using olive oil and breadcrumbs. The ammoglio sauce is diced tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, salt and pepper. Doesn't sound like much but it is fantastic. Really terrific. It is always so much fun to have Ann Marie over - besides, Samson loves her. :)

So tomorrow, we are back at it! The weather looks ominous for the week with a lot of rain and nastiness. You know there will be pictures. Have a good Monday.
