Freighter

First of all, this is a really bad picture.  As an aspiring photographer, I don't like to post less-then-almost-perfect pictures.  But I will today.

I love freighters.  If you could see my cottage, I have a chair to sit at the window and do nothing but look for freighters.  I scour boatnerd.com.  The binoculars are seldom in the case, just ready scan the horizon.

There are several reasons that I love this picture.  One, it is really far away.  Even for my longest lens, it's a stretch.  Two, its running lights are on.

I don't like to edit my pictures much ... but there is the magic of Photoshop.

Next time, I will be ready with the tripod, the remote and camera. Until then, this will suffice.

Cheers.

They are stunning. And thank you for boatnerd.com. It's our new favorite. :)

Fred,
Because of the freighter traffic off of our beach, I am teaching Deirdre about bearing drift, target angles and arcs of visibility of lights. Great fun!
